The operation of the Terminal is controlled by an user program, which is created on the PC compatible computer by means of the programming software APT2 (it is delivered with each Terminal).
Programmable Terminals of the Series 552 are produced in two basic types:
APT40A-22A
- display with two rows 20 characters each
- 21 labeled keys and 1 hidden key
- interface: 2 x RS-232C
- power 5V DC is taken from the PLC via the communication cable
APT80A-24A
- display with two rows 40 characters each
- 23 labeled keys and 1 hidden key
- power supply 20 to 30V DC or 19V AC
- interface:
- APT80A-24A: 2 x RS-232C
- APT80A-24AE: 2 x RS-232C, 1 x RS-422/485
- with the type APT80A-24AE it is possible to create a net connecting several terminals with several PLCs
- with the APT80A-24AE type it is possible to connect an additional input/output board; via the output board an large numeric LED display of ASD type can be connected
